Sharm El Sheikh sports bar refurbished with EV

EGYPT: The Bus Stop Sports Lounge in Naama Bay, Sharm El Sheikh recently underwent a major audio refit to coincide with coverage of the 2010 FIFA World Cup. Included within the installation – which was handled by regional supplier Alpha Audio – was Electro Voice equipment serving multiple dance floors, a VIP lounge, a games area and an outdoor terrace.

The Bus Stop Sports Lounge has already caused a stir in Naama Bay with its combination of big screens to show football matches from the World Cup, a major sound system to support club nights and a dedicated PlayStation, Xbox and Wii area. Prior to the football tournament, visitors were looking forward to the prospect of more than a dozen LCD high definition screens on which to watch the matches, but attention has now turned to the sound reinforcement system.

Tied together with a Netmax N8000, the installation comprises four Electro-Voice RX112/75 full range loudspeakers plus two XSubs serving the main dance area, with a further pair of RX112/75 and two Tour-X TX1181 subs for the secondary dance-floor.

Meanwhile, the VIP lounge combines two Xi-1082 loudspeakers with a pair of Tour-X TX1181s, while four Xi-1082s and two Tour-X TX2181s cover the bar and billiards room. Within the impressive games area are four Xi-1082 cabinets plus four Evid 6.2 speakers and a pair of Tour-X TX2181 subs. Another six Evid 6.2 boxes are installed in the outdoor terrace, plus four in the snack bar area, which enjoys added low end from a single TX1181.

Evid speakers have also been installed into the venue’s entrance and restrooms. Finally, two TX1152 and a Tour-X 2181 are used for DJ monitors. Three CPS8.5 and two CPS4.10 amplifiers power the entire install.
