SLS spearheads 7up Dubai opening ceremony

UAE: Asia Sports Marketing recently awarded SLS Production with the contract to manage the 7up Dubai Government Entities Football League opening ceremony at the Dubai Police Stadium. The opening ceremony comprised an eight-minute multimedia laser show storyboarded by Laser Kinetics Middle East’s Alex Fedorov.
SLS Production used 24 JBL VerTec VT4889 line array speakers and 16 JBL VerTec VT 4880A full size arrayable subwoofers for the pain PA. In addition, two HK Audio monitors were supplied for the stage, as were two podium and two wireless microphones and a Yamaha LS9 digital console.
Six strategically placed lasers played a major part in the storyboard section, and the lights were programmed by Sonu AB. A total of 28 4K Sky Trackers were placed around the stadium, as were 24 Clay Paky Sharpys, 34 Clay Paky Alpha HPE spot 1200s, 20 Studio Spot 575 washes, 18 Clay Paky Alpha Wash 1200s, LED Pixel tracks, 22 LED City colours, 28 LED Par lights, six Cyclops LED moving heads, all controlled with a Grand MA Lighting console.
SLS project manager Edwin Cheeran was joined by 20 crew members for the project. The team worked closely with Asia Sports Marketing for three full days for the setup, whilst the fourth day was used for rehearsals.
