SNRT selects AEQ

MOROCCO: Moroccan national broadcaster Société Nationale de Radiodiffusion et de Télévision(SNRT) has added AEQ’s Phoenix Studio audio codecs to equip 17 studio-to transmitter links between its central production HQ the associated remote transmitter sites.

Following a technical evaluation, the selection of AEQ Phoenix Studio units was reportedly based on its flexibility and simple operation. The broadcaster also placed a great deal of importance on the technical features the audio codec could offer. SNRT has been a regular AEQ customer. It has a number of audio mixing consoles for its radio studios as well as rack-mounted and portable communication equipment.

The various audio codecs have been installed at sites around the country. Making the project more challenging, the majority of the studio-to-transmitter links are in remote locations and use a variety of methods of connection (ADSL, ISDN, X21/V35) as well as diverse communication algorithms (MP2, PCM, AAC, G722, AEQ-LD) for stereo signals.

The project was handled by AEQ together with its local partner ABCHIR. A large technical team led by engineer Luis Hernandez installed the equipment and provided complete operation and maintenance training seminars for all the supplied material.
