Sony highlights educational solutions

UAE: Sony Professional Solutions MEA (Sony PSMEA) in conjunction with Almoe Digital Solutions, Al Reyami Technologies, Al Reyami Interiors, BOHRA IT Solutions and United Broadcast & Media solutions, held its first education event in the Middle East and Africa region. The event showcased the manufacturer’s latest technology and solutions for academic institution management and knowledge delivery to students.

Sony collaborated with its partners to re-create a miniature campus environment. The simulated campus environment included a full-fledged auditorium, classrooms, media production studio and security control room. Sony showcased interactive projectors, security cameras and broadcast equipment including a prototype of the AnyCast Touch scheduled to launch in this region in September 2013.

‘In line with Sony’s commitment to provide cutting edge technologies across all industries it operates in, we extended this knowledge and expertise from the broadcast arena to the education sector, equipping schools, universities and auditoriums across the globe with easy-to-use A/V technology that engages attention,’ said Sunil Krishnani, head of business development, Sony PSMEA. ‘We created our first education event in the region to present the latest technologies designed to facilitate knowledge sharing. We have witnessed the education industry develop significantly over the last two decades and we are excited to be part of this growth.’

Marwan Manaja, operations manager of Mohammed Bin Rashid School for Communication American University of Dubai was one of attendees and added: ‘What brought me here are the new opportunities that Sony was delivering for new school room facilities and auditoriums as well as communications facilities such as the studios and cameras that students can use in classrooms.’
