Sound Creations takes audio on the road

KENYA: County Development Communication (CDC) recently sought a systems integrator to install an audio system inside its new truck for running awareness campaigns and commercial road shows. Bespoke truck manufacturer Land Mawe Limited recommended that Sound Creations Limited tender a bid for the project, having previously heard the sound quality of a system that it had installed in another vehicle.
Sound Creations was reportedly selected for the project on the basis of its technical proposal against those of its competitors. Installation of the system took only a week. It comprised dBTechnologies' DVA KS20 line array cabinets, Ingenia IG2T and IG4T speakers and an LVX 10. The truck was also equipped with an Allen & Heath ZED-10FX mixer on a Z10-RK19 rack mount kit, BLX 288e/PG58 and PG48 microphones from Shure, a Pioneer DDJ-SR controller and HDJ500 headphones and a Sollatek AVS30 power protection device. A variety of connections were deployed, such as NAC3FCB power connectors, NP2C/X jacks and NC3FX XLR connectors from Neutrik with Soundking’s CA525 and CA526 and Sommer cabling.
Francis Karuri served as the project manager on behalf of Sound Creations and was supported by Vincent Manwa and Kevin Mehta.
Following the installation, CDC staff and management were impressed with the audio system and its output. ‘We definitely got value for our money,’ said CDC accounts executive, Catherine Mulama. ‘The positioning of the system also makes the truck look lovely.’
