Sound on Stage adds Pro2 to Midas inventory

UAE: The Dubai office of rental company Sound on Stage has added a Midas Pro2 digital console to its inventory, continuing its long-standing support for the Music Group brand. The console was purchased from Nicolas Kyvernitis Electronics Enterprises (NMK), the distributor of Midas in the United Arab Emirates for the live sound market segment.

Originally founded in Lebanon in 1992, Sound on Stage’s Dubai operation was opened in 2002 to serve the UAE and wider Middle East. First specialising in Lebanese productions, the Media City-based company has since expanded to serve a broad range of indoor and outdoor events.

The Pro2 continues a long legacy of Midas desks within the rental company’s warehouse. ‘After several years of using Midas consoles, starting with the Venice 320, then the Legend 3000 and H3000, we purchased a Pro6 in 2009, which was later upgraded to a Pro9,’ explained Sound on Stage owner Rawad Saad. ‘In order to complete our system we decided to purchase the Pro2, which can handle monitor control and is the best option for medium-sized events because it offers a very high number of inputs and outputs.’

Following the sale, NMK product specialist Pramod Manerikar suggested that recent software releases are helping to bolster the popularity of the Midas brand within the region. ‘The latest 2.5.1 and 2.5.2 firmware updates have been rewritten from the ground-up, and this has boosted the performance and stability of all the Midas consoles and added an array of new features,’ he explained.
