Sound On Stage uses Coda for Earth Hour

UAE: Sound On Stage Events put its Coda Audio ViRay compact line array system, for a celebration of the annual Earth Hour at the world’s tallest building, Dubai’s Burj Khalifa.
Twelve Coda ViRay and six SCV-F subs covered a 2,000-strong audience in an area measuring 60m x 45m, with performances by a range of artists. Monitors comprised eight Coda Cue Four, four Cue Two and two Cue Ones, driven by C5 amplifiers in active mode with control by RC20T touring racks.
‘It was a very successful event to help further raise awareness of the issues that Earth Hour highlights,’ said Sound On Stage Events technical manager Rawad Saad. ‘All of the performers were very happy with the sound and the organisers said it was a complete success.’
Also enjoying a successful use of ViRay was a concert by Lebanese singers Najwa Karam and Fares Karam at Dubai’s Atlantis Palm Resort. Here 24 ViRay and eight SCV-F subs were deployed, with an identical monitor setup to the Burj Khalifa show.
‘Najwa and Fares always request that we supply their audio systems, because we use the best equipment and get the best sound,’ said Mr Saad. ‘The system also had to cover a 16m long catwalk in front of the stage, which it did seamlessly. ViRay delivers consistently superb audio, which is why it is already very popular with event organisers here.’
