Symetrix training to visit South Africa

SOUTH AFRICA: Distributor iLED has announced a new series of Symetrix product classes as part of the ‘iLED University’ education programme. The sessions will be held at the distributor’s Roodepoort training facility in November 2013.
Symetrix’ first training session, ‘Products and Sales’, will take place between 09:00-13:00 on Wednesday November 6th. The iLED University team has designed the course to cater for sales personnel, engineers, and consultants desiring a broad overview of the Symetrix range, practical designs, and example applications.
Between 13:30-16:30 that afternoon, the technical trainers will be hosting a second session for installers and technicians, revolving around the Jupiter series of fixed-architecture DSPs. Attendees can expect to learn about programming the product line through the brand’s smartphone-like ‘apps’, whilst gaining experience in the many pre-designed configurations available for download from the Symetrix website.
The final course of the week, being held on Thursday November 7th, will concentrate on the manufacturer’s Dante-enabled Edge and Radius processors in-addition to the non-Dante standalone Solus platform. Running from 09:00-16:00 and intended for installers and programmers, iLED instructors will go through model selection, configuration of the products through Symetrix’ SymNet Composer software, and an overview of the ARC-WEB, ARC and SymVue control options.
‘Our education schemes have been designed to increase the range of services an engineer can provide,’ commented Ivan Potter, managing director of iLED. ‘We’ve limited our sessions to 10 participants, which ensures that all students get the chance to interact with our trainers and learn skills specific to their business. All of our sessions are a mix of hands-on practical application and lecture theory – we believe it allows participants the optimum balance between understanding and demonstrating.’
Participants who successfully demonstrate their new knowledge will receive full certification. Professionals wishing to take part must register in advance through the distributor’s website and ensure they bring a Windows laptop.
