The Torch Doha and Aspire Academy get wireless conferencing and translation systems

QATAR: AV Tech has supplied The Torch Doha hotel and Aspire Academy in Doha with conferencing and translation solutions using a combination of equipment from Televic and Sennheiser.
The solution supplied to The Torch Doha sees two 50-delegate wireless solutions based around Televic’s Confidea. Each system has a central unit, two chairman units and 48 delegate units as well as 50 of the manufacturer’s MIC38SL gooseneck mics. Also included in the setup are headphones, various pieces of charging equipment and wireless conference access points.
AV Tech has supplied a further solution at the hotel for mobile translation needs. This system has seen the company combine products from Televic and Sennheiser to build the complete solution. The hub of the mobile translation system is again Televic’s Confidea. This has been combined with transmitters and receivers from Sennheiser’s TourGuide range as well as Sennheiser headsets for the delegates. In the Audipack portable interpreter booth is a Televic ID2500 digital interpreter desk with built-in loudspeaker and fixed gooseneck mic. AV Tech has supplied six of these desks to the hotel and a licence for interpretation into eight languages.
‘The implementation of the wireless conferencing and translation system is a great achievement for us at The Torch Doha,’ said hotel manager, Sherif Sabry. ‘It adds value to our state-of-the-art conferencing technology and clearly enhances customer experience during meetings and events. We are confident that our guests will enjoy our interactive services.’
The second establishment which opted for the solution is Aspire Academy. Here the system is based solely on equipment from Sennheiser. This has seen three solutions sold into the Academy. First, a 10-delegate wireless system for the auditorium uses the manufacturer’s delegate units, headphones, and mics all based around its SDC 8200 CU-M central unit.
The second system is for translation within the auditorium. The SCU 8200 central unit and six of the manufacturer’s SDC 8200 ID interpreter desks form the hub of this system. Again it calls on a significant number of Tour Guide transmitters and receivers, as well as headsets, antennas and a license for eight languages.
The same core elements of the solution are repeated for a slightly smaller final mobile translation system. ‘They are trying to use the mobile system in all the areas of the Aspire Zone,’ noted AV Tech’s Hadi Arzouni. ‘It is the first mobile wireless translation system in Doha.’
Overall, Mr Arzouni is very satisfied with the two sales. ‘It was a good job, there were more than 1,000 headsets needed for the two systems,’ he smiled. ‘We delivered it on time, they used it during the Aspire Grow 4 Sport event and now they are still using the second system inside The Torch Doha hotel.’
