Thomsun opens Middle Easts first Music Square

UAE: Dubai-based exclusive Yamaha distributor for the UAE, Thomsun Trading has opened its eighth showroom in the UAE, and the first in the region to be designed around Yamaha’s Music Square concept.

‘For us it is a state-of-the-art showroom based on an international Yamaha design concept,’ explained Thomsun general manager Biju Thomas. ‘They have such showrooms and facilities in Japan, Asia-Pacific and other regions, but I believe it is a new concept for the Middle East.’

The Dubai Festival City premises houses three sections. The first area exclusively displays the range of Yamaha grand, upright and digital pianos all set up for the customers to touch, feel, play and experience. The next zone houses the manufacturer’s full range of musical instruments, home theatre systems and professional audio equipment.

‘Each of these products have their own feel, a piano showroom is different from a guitar or drum showroom and A/V and professional audio are both different again,’ said Mr Thomas. ‘We have all those sections within showroom.’

The final area is the sprawling ‘Sing & Swing Training Center’, the third in the UAE run by Thomsun. The training section boasts more than 15 classrooms which have been fully equipped with various musical instruments and are aimed at preparing students for various international certifications and future careers in music and dance.

Hiro Okabe, director and managing executive officer of Yamaha Corporation Japan inaugurated the showroom. Also present on the occasion were Toshihiro Yamamoto, managing director of Yamaha Music Gulf, KV Thomas, managing director of Thomsun Group, Kazutoshi Sakabe, marketing director of Yamaha Music Gulf, as well as others from the respective companies and a gathering of music enthusiasts.
