UAE: Thomsun Trading has supplied a large Yamaha system to the Tomo Japanese restaurant in Dubai’s Raffles hotel. The system is put to use at the recently opened venue for background music and is based around passive speakers plus sources.
Tomo is a new restaurant from popular Japanese chef Takahashi and aims to promote authentic Japanese culture and food in the Middle East. The solution supplied by Thomsun is based around 12 Yamaha S55 two-way full range speakers powered by three XM4180 and two XH200 amps. An MGP16X analogue mixer, BDS 671 Blu ray player and a TS500 AM/FM tuner all also from Yamaha have also been supplied. Completing the equipment list is three Beyerdynamic Opus 669 wireless microphone sets including the NE 600 S receiver and SDM 669 handheld transmitter.
‘We were like the consultants for the project and we outsourced the installation to freelance contractors,’ explained Thomsun’s Biju Thomas. ‘We make a definite decision to work with installation companies or tie up with smaller people. Our focus is always on giving technical solutions and support services.’
