Trilogy Communications awarded Oman Radio contract

OMAN: Trilogy Communications has been awarded the contract to supply audio communications and referencing equipment to Oman Radio. The agreement is part of a significant refurbishment to the broadcaster's radio studio facilities, which will see the work carried out by systems integrator All Systems International (ASI) Ltd.

The contract includes a Gemini intercom system for audio communications and Mentor XL master reference generators, which will provide synchronising and referencing signals for all of the audio systems. The project will also involve the automatic control of programme speaker muting and dimming during communications.

The client’s key requirement is that studio personnel must be able to communicate with their counterparts in the other facilities. When the upgrade is implemented, this will be facilitated using the native support found in Gemini for SIP.

‘This is a prestigious contract and having looked at all the options we felt the Trilogy solution is the best fit both in terms of features and reliability,’ said Zubair Sabawi, managing director of ASI Ltd. ‘Trilogy's reputation for reliable customer support is also a major plus point for ASI.’

The contract continues Trilogy's presence in the region, which extends back to its first Commander communications systems installed in 2002 with the same broadcaster.
