VDC makes additions to board

WORLD: VDC has made two additions to its board of directors in the form of Andrew Higginson and Chris D’Aguiar. Mr Higginson joins as chairman of the board, while Mr D’Aguiar will serve as commercial director.

In his new role, Mr Higginson will provide support, advice and assist VDC as it expands its international and retail operations. He was an executive director of Tesco PLC for 15 years, initially as finance and strategy director, then as CEO of its retail services business and as such will bring a wealth of experience in the retail sector to the company. He is also chairman of N Brown Group plc and the private equity-owned Poundland.  He is the senior independent director at BSkyB plc and is a non-executive director of Woolworths (South Africa) and the RFU.

Mr D’Aguiar will lead on the commercial development of both UK and international markets for VDC and Van Damme. On a day-to-day basis he will be VDC’s ‘customer champion’ and direct the company’s sales and marketing efforts. He joins VDC following a variety of executive commercial and financial management roles with growth oriented technology companies, including both FTSE 100 organisations and SMEs. He brings considerable international experience gained through business development activities in over 25 countries and is well versed in promoting premium brands into new markets, which will be crucial to the future plans for VDC and the Van Damme brands.
