Veer opens with Electro-Voice

LEBANON: Beirut-based audiovisual and lighting solutions company Amac has completed an installation for new boutique hotel Veer. The project needed to be finished for the 21-room hotel’s soft opening this summer ahead of its full launch in 2013.

Veer required a system to cover its beach-side multi-purpose space. ‘The project is a unique concept, a luxury hotel with such an open space dedicated for all events,’ said Amac sales manager Wissam Hayeck. ‘It was a demanding multi-purpose operation, and we faced fierce competition from reputable brands.’

To cover the space, Amac installed a line array solution from Electro-Voice. The system consists of 24 XLD281 cabinets flown left and right of the entrance to the area with eight Xsub per side ground stacked below them. Side fill is via six EVF-1152 S96 cabinets.

Power for the system comes from 16 Electro-Voice CP3000S amps supplemented by a further four CP4000s units and a pair of CPS4.10s. Processing is courtesy of the manufacturer’s N8000 digital matrix controller.

Amac has also provided a system to act as monitors for DJs or live bands. This consists of four Electro-Voice TX1152FM floor monitors and a pair of TX1122FM floor monitors also from the Tour X range. Power is via three Electro-Voice Q99 amps.

For mics, Amac has supplied a package from Shure. This includes SLX24/Beta 58 wireless handheld units as well as a variety of SM57, SM58 and Beta 98 models.

According to Mr Hayeck, Electro-Voice was the right choice for this project as the manufacturer offers ‘the right product, right pricing and excellent support’. It was a 10-day project and the sales manager is certainly pleased with the job. ‘It is an excellent result, and it looks great.’
