VV amp Sons equips mobile stage
Published: MEA
UAE: VV & Sons has designed and built the system for a new mobile stage for the Islamic Foundation. The mobile stage draws on many of the distributor’s brands, with products from Nexo, Audio-Technica and Allen & Heath all in use.
The stage itself has been designed for both live and recording use. A truck has been divided into two sections with a stage on one side where a preacher can speak to the gathered crowd and a control room behind. For the sound system a Nexo PS.15U has been installed in the top corner left and right of the stage with a further PS.10U on each side. Low end comes from an RS18 sub centrally located below the main stage. Power for the system comes from a Nexo NXAMP4X4C amplifier.
Sources for the system include a wireless mic system from Audio-Technica and a Denon DNV 310 CD player. From Audio-Technica, an AEW-5244D wireless dual microphone system, as well as a pair of ATM610 handheld mics, an ATW-A49 antenna and an AT4060 cardioid condenser tube mic have all been supplied.
The dual live and recording purpose of the mobile stage has led to two different mixing setups. For the live side, an Allen & Heath W31622/X desk controls the system. Also sitting in the control room is the recording setup. This includes a Peavey CEL2A compressor/expander/limiter, a pair of KRK-E8B monitors and an Allen & Heath ZED-R16/X desk. Using this system the Foundation will be able to record the speeches made on stage for later distribution on CD.
Also in use for the project is a Furman P6900ARE power conditioner, two pairs of Xone:XD53X headphones and cabling from Kelsey.
