10-inch powered speaker joins Cerwin-Vega P-Series

Following in the footsteps of the original P1500X loudspeaker, Cerwin Vega’s powered 10-inch P1000X is a compact model intended for a variety of applications ranging from touring to speech reinforcement.

Featuring many of the same controls as its predecessor, the P1000X is a two-way, bi-amped, full-range bass-reflex design loaded with a 10-inch woofer and HF compression driver. The assembly is powered by a custom 1,500W Class-D amp and boasts a proprietary hemi-conical horn to deliver wide coverage. The polymer enclosure also includes a built-in mixer, onboard EQ, the brand’s Vega Bass boost system and high-pass filter controls. Mounting is via a self-tightening pole cup or built-in rigging points (a remote volume port is included for suspended installation).

The Gibson Pro Audio brand has also added to its XD powered desktop series with the 4-inch XD4, 5-inch XD5 and 8-inch XD8s powered sub. Constructed out of MDF and equipped with metal covers, the XD4 features a ¾-inch tweeter while the XD5 utilises a 1-inch tweeter. Both models include the Vega Bass boost system. The XD8s also ships with a remote control which offers a subwoofer mute button.
