Achieving Xcellence with EASE
Published: PRODUCTS

Amate Audio’s Xcellence range is now fully compatible with AFMG’s simulation software, EASE Focus. The behaviour of any Xcellence system can be simulated prior to installation in an outdoor area using the available EASE Focus 3 libraries.
Coverage maps are calculated and presented in 3D via the software, as well as the delay time between audio sources, frequency responses throughout the space, rigging points and array angulations. Also included is the new Complex Sum algorithm, which enables the simulation of cancelations between sources.
The manufacturer has also been busy with the release of its new full-range neodymium transducer cabinets, the passive JK15N and the active JK15NA. Both models are polyvalent 15-inch systems weighing no more than 3.7kg, designed with a ‘bold look and an optimised steel grille’, covered by a black micro-foam cloth.
Joining the 15-inch woofer of the JK15N and JK15NA is a 3-inch voice coil and a neodymium magnet to increase magnetic flux and improve low-end response. The units also posses a high-frequency driver that features a 1.75-inch PETP diaphragm with another neodymium magnet that are manufactured in an asymmetrical dispersion horn.
