Acoustic Technologies launches ‘Swiss Army Knife of speakers’

Acoustic Technologies has launched its SCX24 multipurpose live production speaker. Dubbed as ‘the Swiss Army knife of speakers’ the Australian manufacturer claims that the SCX24 is a departure from conventional multipurpose speakers currently available on the market.

The two-way coaxial speaker design combines a 12-inch woofer with a 1-inch compression driver to provide a uniform 80-degrees conical dispersion pattern. Operating within a frequency range of 100Hz to 18kHz, the 23kg cabinet is capable of producing a maximum SPL of 125dB.

Housed in a birch plywood cabinet finished in black AcoustiCoate, the coaxial loudspeaker also comes with a steel mesh grille. The cabinet’s hardware includes recessed hand grips, a rigging track on the top and rear panels for safe suspension and a dual angle pole-mount adaptor.

Dual Speakon connection panels are provided on the top and bottom panels which become the cabinet ends when used as a stage monitor for simplified cabling.
