Adamson addresses smaller venues with S-Series

Intended to cater for smaller venues, the S-Series from Adamson Systems is a sub-compact line array system formed of four components – the S10 full-range enclosure, the S119 subwoofer, the manufacturers Blueprint AV software and its E-rack solution.
At the heart of the system is the full-range S10 element, comprising two purpose-designed 10-inch (ND10-LM) Kevlar, neodymium woofers and a single 1.5-inch (NH4TA2) HF compression driver. The HF driver is mounted to a custom wave-shaping chamber that reportedly produces a ‘slightly curved wavefront’ with a nominal dispersion of 110-degrees by 10-degrees (H x V). According to the manufacturer, the sound chamber exhibits an increased vertical response with minimal sacrifice of high frequency energy in the far field. The full-range enclosure offers a reported maximum SPL of 141.3dB and weighs 27kg.
The S10 enclosure also employs Adamson’s Controlled Summation Technology, which is described as a design method that brings the low frequency drivers as close together as possible, while outwardly splaying them. This is intended to reduce interference as a result of reduced summation at the crossover point.
The companion S119 subwoofer houses a long-excursion, 19-inch (ND19) Kevlar, neodymium woofer. The driver employs the manufacturer’s Advanced Cone Architecture and a 5-inch voice-coil for increased power handling. It is front-loaded in the enclosure.
Both the S10 and S119 cabinets are constructed from marine-grade birch plywood and aircraft-grade steel and aluminium, while the inputs are Speakon NL8 connectors. Additionally, the series marks the debut of Adamson’s SlideLock rigging system that allows the cabinet angles to be set prior to lifting.
Power for the whole system is via the recently announced E-Rack, incorporating Lab.gruppen amplification combined with a 20-port managed Ethernet switch for routing dual-redundant Dante and control signals.
