Long known as a UK-based rentals and installation specialist, Adlib Audio has announced plans to become a manufacturer with its AA brand of loudspeakers, based on models used in the company’s own projects for 15 years. The work is to be handled by a new division named Adlib Speakers.
Described as ‘hand-crafted’ and ‘the ultimate boutique brand’, the AA models are being built in the company’s hometown of Liverpool in the UK. According to the manufacturer they are ‘ideal for numerous environments from installations to high-end corporate events and industry shows’.
The range currently comprises four products. The two-way AA61 can be used in either vertical or horizontal configurations and comprises a 6.5-inch neodymium woofer and 1-inch tweeter with a 90-degree waveguide. The AA81 is also two-way with an 8-inch woofer and 1-inch HF compression driver mounted on a 90-degree x 60-degree rotatable hyperbolic cosine horn flare. Offering 450W output, the 12-inch AA121 is a two-way design, housed in a trapezoidal enclosure with a 1-inch HF driver mounted on a 90-degree x 40-degree exponential horn flare. Finally, a compact 600W sub is available in the shape of the AA12HL600.
All of the cabinets are constructed from Finnish birch ply and available with a hard-wearing textured paint exterior for installations. In addition, the full and mid-high speakers include M10 flying points as standard.
