AES67 leads NTP to the MNA

Support for the AES67 networking standard has been introduced to NTP Technology’s Penta 720 broadcast audio router with the latest expansion card release. ‘The Penta 720 already supports Dante audio-over-IP,’ says NTP’s business development manager, Jan Lykke. ‘The addition of AES67 makes it possible to use the device in both Dante and AES67-based solutions simultaneously. Dante provides a very easy and flexible audio-over-IP infrastructure, however, there is also a requirement for an open standard to interconnect to non-Dante devices. For that reason, we have joined the Media Networking Alliance which is promoting the AES67 standard.’
In addition to the AES67 support for Penta 720, the manufacturer has also unveiled a refreshed version of its Visual Matrix Control (VMC) routing software. The program offers a Windows-based user interface for managing audio routing between studios and allows for the management of signal routing and monitoring in the NTP Blue NET Madi and AoIP routing control system.
The software provides engineers with GUI-based routing of signals in various formats from all connected interfaces, reportedly allowing all signal levels to be viewed as peak programme meters as well as begin individually monitored.
