AM50 master module offers more options for Fohhn Airea

The Airea active, fully digital audio network system has been further extended by German manufacturer Fohhn.
Comprising of a master module and several compact active loudspeakers, whose exact number depends on the specific application, the control data, audio signal and power supply for Airea runs over one Cat-5 cable, controlled by Fohhn Audio Soft software. A new 2U AM50 master module now provides 1,600W AES power and includes eight AES/EBU interfaces / Fohhn-Net inputs, plus eight digital signal outs and a power supply for up to 32 Airea speakers.
In addition, a two-way active speaker has been developed in the form of the LX-60 ASX. Incorporating a DSP-controlled 200W amplifier, four 4-inch woofers and a compression driver married to a wave shaper, the compact miniature line array system is ideally suited for small-medium applications or as a delay line system. In addition, the ABX-2 Break In Extension converts analogue inputs to digital output signals. It comes with two channels of analogue in, a single Fohhn-Net in, Airea out 1 and 1 AES/EBU out, whilst the Airea jack output socket provides both AES/EBU and the Fohhn-Net signals.
Joining the Tops range of the X-series, meanwhile, is the XT-6, a new horn-loaded speaker attached to a 1.4-inch compression driver with two 10-inch woofers. The 600W RMS plug-and-play system exerts a sensitivity reading of 105dB SPL (1W/1m) and dispersion characteristics on a 90-degree x 60-degree plane. Housed in multiplex birch and finished in polyurethane coating, the cabinet integrates milled handles, a built-in tripod base and can be mounted on a loudspeaker stand by means of VXT-6 vertical brackets. An Aeroquip system allows a for flying truss courtesy of integrated safety eyelets, whilst an optional dolly with 80mm wheels and butterfly locks is also available.
Elsewhere, the EN 54/24-certified LEN speakers have now been adapted to 100V technology for use in voice alarm systems located within challenging acoustic environments. Housed in aluminium, the IP54-rated weather-proof column speakers incorporate a wave shaper system (Fohhn Source Division Waveguide), a multi-zone crossover and a bespoke speaker chassis to offer a coherent vertical sound dispersion and an increase in SPLs while also minimising side-lobes. The LEN-20 comprises dual 4-inch coated cone speakers within a 235mm x 130mm x 120mm cabinet and terminal connections up to 4mm². The LEN-60, LEN-100 and LEN-150 models feature six, eight and 12 4-inch speakers respectively, whilst the LEN-220 combines 16 4-inch speakers within its 2,200mm high aluminium housing.
Finally, adding a new dimension to the manufacturer’s beam steering technology is Focus Venue, which consists of three models, for which a special module is available for the hi-mid, low-mid and low-frequency ranges respectively. The systems are equipped with high-performance 1- and 1.4-inch compression drivers together with 10- and 15-inch cone drivers in addition to a unique wave-shaping horn system. Designed as a fully active system, the combinable modules can be optimally adapted to specific requirements. Each individual speaker chassis or pair of speaker chassis respectively has its own dedicated amplifier and DSP. Both vertical and horizontal adjustments can be managed using the Fohhn Audio Soft software.
