API dials in with 535-LA line amplifier

Following requests from customers, API has developed the 535-LA line amplifier as part of its 500 Series collection. Modelled on the console-based 325 booster cards, the manufacturer states that the 535 can both amplify and attenuate incoming and outgoing signals, whilst reportedly providing warmth and tone.

In addition, the 535 can be used in applications where signal levels need adjusting such as inputs from keyboards, audio playback devices or audio processing devices that do not have their own level control and features an LED clip indicator.

Other features include a balanced input, a polarity switch and a 20dB pad for incoming signal attenuation. There is also a three position toggle switch for different output gain levels from the transformer to drive long balanced lines with low distortion like the 325 booster card. With an output gain range from 6dB to 45dB, the 535 also incorporates the 2510 and 2520 op amps together with API’s transformers.
