Audac installation range expands

Belgian manufacturer Audac has grown its range of loudspeakers to include new models for both external and internal installation.

The first new addition is a version of the manufacturer’s Axir column speaker for permanent outdoor use. The Axir/OW reportedly offers an identical performance to the regular model, which means that it features two individual speaker sections, each with six 2-inch drivers capable of producing a power up to 120W.

However, thanks to changes in the design, Audac states that it will now also perform well outdoors. The Axir/OW’s 12 drivers have received a special coating to protect them from various weather elements, plus an aluminium front grille and a stainless steel mounting bracket have been added.

Also new is the Xeno series, a two-way loudspeaker range comprising two models: the Xeno 6 and the Xeno 8. While both have a 1-inch dome tweeter, the Xeno 6 features a 6-inch mid/low frequency driver whereas the Xeno 8 has an 8-inch driver.

These two-way loudspeakers are described by the manufacturer as ‘specifically designed’ for fixed audio installations in modern environments, with a revolving bracket to offer both horizontal and vertical rotation.

An integrated protection system is also included to avoid tweeter damage when overloads occur.
Finally, the new Celo series expands Audac’s ceiling speaker range. The ‘high-end’ range consists of 5-inch, 6-inch and 8-inch models intended to be as discreet as possible within an install due to a slim grille design with a thin border of only 1mm.
