Award-winning discussion system leads Bosch launches

Focusing on the conferencing and installation sectors, Bosch has unveiled a number of additions to its catalogue, leading with the CCS 1000 D digital discussion system. A compact solution intended for small-to-medium sized meeting areas, the system has already won an iF Design Award with its combination of plug-and-play use, built-in recording to either internal (up to eight hours) or removable USB media plus features such as digital language processing and built-in Digital Acoustic Feedback Suppression (DAFS).
The CCS 1000 D can connect up to 80 discussion devices configured via web browser. Examined more closely, the DAFS system reportedly enables simultaneous microphone and loudspeaker activity in each discussion device without acoustic feedback, thereby enhancing intelligibility. An automatic energy saving mode is also on-board to switch the system off after two hours of inactivity.
Moving towards the installation sector, the manufacturer has also introduced its LC20 range of ceiling speakers, currently comprising two models in the shape of the LC20-PC60G6-6 (a 6.5-inch two-way) and the LC20-PC60G6-8 (an 8-inch two-way). The speakers are primarily aimed at retail and restaurant BGM applications.
The two models offer 100W power handling, output of 115dB and 116dB respectively, and coverage angles of 100-degrees and 120-degrees respectively. Other features include a reinforced steel back can, a four-point clamp mechanism and integrated mounting legs for installations, detachable pass-thru Phoenix-style signal connections plus a tap selector for 8-ohm, 70V or 100V operation. The speakers are also pending EN 54 certification.
Providing a different kind of compact install solution meanwhile is the Compact Sound speaker system, which is being marketed under both the Bosch and Electro-Voice Evid brands. Each version of the series comprises five interchangeable compact models, three of which are full range while two are 8-inch subs.
Included are subwoofer and satellite speakers for surface-mounting, subwoofer and satellite speakers for ceilings, and a pendant satellite speaker. Individual models can be mixed with one another to fit a particular application while installers can alternatively opt to purchase a ‘BGM in a box’ pre-packaged solution. Other features include direct connections between satellites and subwoofers, thereby simplifying wiring, and support for 100W, 70/100V, and 8-ohm connections.
The ceiling versions (available in white) also add a quick-install design with captive mounting tabs, four-pin Phoenix connectors on the satellites, UL 2043/1480 ratings to facilitate signalling applications and plenum air spaces. Unique to the surface mount versions is support for stereo operation with 8-ohm connections, quick-mount brackets, and black or white finishes. Finally, the pendant speaker is a 2-inch, full-range, UL-rated model in white.
