Baldwin Boxall stands Vigil with touchscreen mic

Following the success of its Vigil2 voice evacuation system, UK-based manufacturer Baldwin Boxall is debuting the Vigil3 touchscreen microphone. Boasting a 7-inch capacitive touchscreen display, the new model is fully compatible with established Vigil2 systems, providing users with the option to swap out older microphones.

According to the manufacturer, the Vigil3 touchscreen microphone enables full control over a Vigil2 installation and will take priority in the event of an evacuation. The GUI is described as reminiscent of Baldwin Boxall touchscreen PC systems, with intuitive operation.

Other features include the ability to record and play back messages at any time, a local music input, and a function for accessing history and fault logs via the touchscreen. There is also a facility for a hardwire bypass, providing additional security.
