B&C adds to high and low driver ranges

B&C Speakers have added a number of low frequency drivers to its catalogue with the NBX series. Weighing 9kg, the 12NBX100 is a 12-inch low frequency driver with a continuous power rating of 2,000W designed to operate down to 40Hz. Rated with a sensitivity of 96dB, the new woofer comprises a 100mm copper voice coil, FEA optimised neodymium magnet assembly, a double silicone spider and ventilated voice coil gap together with an aluminium demodulating ring. Built with the same features, the 15-inch 15NBX100 can operate down to 35Hz, whilst producing 97dB sensitivity. The 18NBX100 is an 18-inch low frequency driver with a continuous power rating of 2,400W designed to operate down to 40Hz and comprises a 100mm diameter split winding copper voice coil. 

A further two new woofers have been added to the TBW low frequency series. The 15TBW100 and 18TBW100 are 3,000W power rated 15- and 18-inch models respectively. Both models incorporate 100mm split winding copper voice coils, double silicone spiders and ventilated voice coil gaps plus aluminium demodulating rings. The 15TBW100 can operate within a frequency response of 40 – 1,500 Hz, whilst the 18TBW100 is capable of producing 35Hz.

The Florence-based manufacturer has also added five new high frequency compression drivers, whose new diaphragm geometries reportedly flatten the frequency response above 10kHz, and ‘significantly improve’ their waterfall response curves. The 3-inch diaphragm models now feature a unique phase plug that has been specifically designed for the new diaphragms.

The 1-inch DE250TN is a 120W power rated driver incorporates a titanium diaphragm, 44mm aluminium voice coil and 25mm horn throat diameter. Weighing 2.1kg and capable of producing 106dB sensitivity, the DE250TN operates within a 1,000-18,000Hz response.

Of the three new models with 1.4-inch horn throat diameters, the DE90TN is a 220W rated driver with a 75mm CCAW voice coil and titanium diaphragm designed for operation above 500Hz. Capable of producing 107.5dB sensitivity, the new compression driver is outfitted with a shorting copper cap for extended HF response.

The DE980TN is another 220W rated driver which is outfitted with a neodymium magnet assembly and shorting copper cap. The DE602 is a 160 W rated driver with a 65mm aluminium voice coil and titanium diaphragm designed for operation above 1,000Hz.

Finally, the 280W-rated DE1080TN is the largest of the new arrivals with a 1.5-inch horn throat diameter, which incorporate a 100mm CCAW voice coil and titanium diaphragm. Constructed from neodymium, the DE1080TN has been designed to operate within a 500-20,000Hz frequency response and can produce 109dB sensitivity.
