BXB bolsters i-management concept with ICP-5000

Taiwanese manufacturer BXB is aiming to improve safety and security across school and university campuses with its Intelligent Campus concept – upgrading traditional PA systems to become ‘video, PA and incident command systems’. The idea has now been strengthened with the arrival of the ICP-5000.

Given the full name of the ICP-5000 i-Campus Video PA & Incident Command System, the unit reportedly ‘integrates message transmission with command and management functions to provide a brand new integration solution’. Its key functions have been divided into three categories: i-Learning, for which eight channels of HD video can be transmitted via IP to a maximum of 250 receivers; i-Management, which handles the in-classroom power-supply, offering control over fixtures and fittings whilst reporting on consumption, cutting back on energy waste and reducing the risk of fire; and i-Security, with features including intercom and emergency call functions plus the integration of CCTV.

In other BXB news, the manufacturer is now shipping its FUN microphone for conferencing applications. As previously reported, the IP-based mic has been designed with a square form-factor plus onboard DSP. Also included is automatic gain control, five ‘sound fields’ to facilitate the microphone’s use across a range of applications, a digital identification system to simplify installation, and the option of setting each unit to either chairman or delegate mode. The base of each unit also includes an LCD screen displaying performance and the microphone’s assigned number, plus two inputs for Cat-5e connections.
