Cobalt Digital targets OB applications with card-based solutions
Published: PRODUCTS
Cobalt Digital has launched a new range of Madi processing cards aimed at expanding multi-channel/multi-source possibilities and baseband audio routing for mobile environments, production companies or any application involving multi-vehicle audio signal transport.
Cited as being particularly suited for outside broadcast environments, the 9374-EMDE quad stream SDI – AES – Madi embedder/de-embedder series (used with a 192 x 192 crosspoint switch) is optimised to offer a plethora of new possibilities in multi-channel/multi-source baseband audio routing applications.
The Madi processing cards provide a full unrestricted audio crosspoint that allows channel routing between any channels on up to four SDI steams, discrete AES-3id, and AES10 Madi interfaces. It uses standard 1694A cabling, eliminating the need for fiber, and its receiver performance facilitates up to 250m of Madi receive capability – with no signal degradation.
Embed and de-embed-only versions are also available, as well as dual SDI stream 9372 and single SDI stream 9371 versions.
