Community M-Class monitors blend style and performance
Published: PRODUCTS

Community Professional has added two new ‘stylish, high performance’ stage monitors to its M-Class series in the shape of the MX8 and the MX10.
The new monitors are said to be ‘ideal’ for single performers who often move off-axis, and for group performers such as theatre acts, choirs and orchestras.
Shaped into a ‘stylish curved’ design, the 8-inch MX8 and the 10-inch MX10 use Community’s coaxial driver units, which, according to the manufacturer, result in a ‘smooth’ phase and frequency response performance with reduced feedback, improved intelligibility, and uniform coverage ‘exactly where it is needed’. The monitors also feature carbon ring cone technology and dyna-tech multi-stage limiter circuits.
The 375W program MX8 and the 500W program MX10 feature high sensitivity, permitting the use of smaller power amplifiers to obtain very high output levels. Meanwhile, precision-engineered internal crossovers eliminate the need for bi-amplification, reducing the overall system cost.
Meanwhile, the manufacturer has also introduced four new products to provide a comprehensive range of VLF subwoofers for theatres, music venues, clubs, restaurants, auditoria, houses of worship, schools and other fixed installs or portable applications.
The first is the VLF208LV, a dual 8-inch subwoofer in a large volume enclosure, boasting a frequency response down to 40Hz (-3dB) and an operating range to 28Hz (-10dB). The 1,000W program VLF208LV is designed to deliver low-end power. Its low velocity port design extends the response while eliminating air noise through a 16-gauge steel performance grille.
Next is the new VLF208LV. Available in two versions, the ‘portable’ version incorporates handles, a pole mount and rubber feet, whilst the installed version incorporates multiple M10 hang points.
Meanwhile, the new VLF115 and VLF118 models offer bass with a half-space sensitivity of 99dB, an operating range of 25 to 300Hz and a - 3dB point at 40Hz. The 15-inch VLF115 handles 1,500W program, and the 18-inch VLF118 handles 2,000W program. Additionally, a user can choose relevant hardware to be fitted for either portrait or landscape configuration.
Lastly, the newly updated VLF218 is a dual 18-inch subwoofer system with a slim profile and offering a power handling of 4,000W program and sensitivity of 99dB/1W/1m.
All models are available in black or white, excluding the VLF218, which is available in just black.
