Compact, all-weather speakers from JBL

The AWC82 and AWC129 enclosures are the latest compact, all-weather loudspeaker systems to come from JBL Professional. Optimised for outdoor applications such as racetracks, school stadiums, theme parks, fairgrounds, skating rinks, swimming facilities, arenas and as a general PA system, the enclosures come in light gray or black and can be painted to match the requirements of a specific application.
The AWC82 is an 8-inch, two-way coaxial speaker with compression-driver high frequency, 120 x 120-degree coverage and 250W power handling. Meanwhile, the 12-inch two-way AWC129 (also with compression-driver frequency) boasts a 90 x 90-degree coverage and 400W of power handling. Both can be operated as direct low-impedance (8ohm) or on a 70V or 100V distributed line via built-in 200W low-saturation, multi-tap transformers.
Crucially, the components are ‘highly’ weather-treated and the enclosures feature a three-layer grille with vapour-barrier backing to minimise direct rain contact with the system transducers. As a further precaution, a panel cover and a watertight gland nut fitting protect the recessed terminal compartment.
Components feature Kevlar reinforced low-frequency drivers and high temperature polymer diaphragms for high output levels with low distortion.
