D-2000 series

Japanese company TOA has launched the D-2000 series digital mixing system, combining auto mixing, matrix switching and signal processing functions. The system’s table-mounted remote console unit boasts a small footprint, yet the D-2000 can be expanded to comprise up to four rack processing units for a total of up to 128 audio inputs and outputs. CobraNet compatibility allows the processing modules to be connected to a LAN for remote operation, while the D-2000 alo provides interfaces directly with AMX and Crestron control protocols so that it can be integrated into multimedia conferencing and presentation systems. A wide range of input, output and control modules are also available for each rack-mount processing unit, including mono or stereo analogue microphone inputs, analogue and digital inputs and outputs, and VCA modules for connection to an optional VCA control unit.

A Type C line array loudspeaker system has also been unveiled by the Japanese manufacturer, incorporating TOA’s phase wavefront control technology providing audio clarity and uniform sound dispersion. The type C offers a choice of 15° and 5° vertical dispersion angle modules, together with a 15-inch subwoofer enclosure for low-end reinforcement. Different modules can be combined together for applications where a combination of short- and long-throw coverage is required. All three cabinets are also available as IPX4-rated splash-proof enclosures. Both mid-high modules use TOA’s proprietary Sync-Drive waveguide design, which can be run in a choice of single or bi-amplified modes, depending on the application requirement. A wide variety of purpose-designed mounting brackets offer installation flexibility, while LF and HF drivers can be quickly replaced from the rear of the enclosure if necessary.
