dampb launches its White range

The latest series of loudspeakers from d&b audiotechnik has been dubbed the White range, differentiating the new enclosures from the manufacturer’s more established products which are now collectively known as the Black range.

Comprising the xS and xA-series of standalone and arrayable loudspeakers respectively, the White range has been designed for permanently installed applications while its systems feature rotatable horns, rigging hardware as well as a weather resistant or special colour option.

The xS-Series comprises seven loudspeakers and three matching subwoofers whose names also reflect the LF driver size employed. Offering a conical dispersion pattern, the two-way 4S and 5S employ direct radiating LF/MF, while the 8S is a full range two-way bass-reflex enclosure. The biaxial 10S/10S-D, meanwhile, represents the heart of the xS-Series, whilst the biaxial 12S/12S-D (boasting extended low frequency response) marks the upper end. These four loudspeakers are two-way bass-reflex cabinets with a choice of two dispersion options and rotatable horns.

A total of four loudspeakers with two matching subs makes up the xA-Series, meanwhile. The range employs direct radiating low and mid frequency sections used in combination with various different high frequency dispersion technologies including line source waveguides. The 10A/10A-D point source and 10AL/10AL-D line source loudspeakers enable the design of vertical arrays, whereas the point source models can also be used to create horizontal arrays. Both the point and line source cabinets offer different vertical and horizontal coverage tailored to specific applications.

Both Series are supported by dedicated subwoofers – the xS-Series consists of the 12S, 18S and 27S whilst within the xA-Series are the 18A and 27A. The 18S/18A and 27S/27A subwoofers frequency response extends from 37Hz to 140Hz and 40Hz to 140Hz respectively. The 27S /27A are passive cardioid subs using the d&b patented PSP (Plywood Signal Processing) technology. The 12S, 18S and 27S subwoofers can be individually suspended with their corresponding brackets, while the 18A and 27A subwoofer’s mounting hardware allows them to be integrated into vertical 10A/10A-D and 10AL/10AL-D arrays or as stand-alone columns.

All of the loudspeakers are driven by either the d&b D6 or D12 amplifiers. They have d&b remote network interfaces enabling control and monitoring via the d&b R1 Remote control software platform.
