DAS Audio extends the Action family

Designed to extend the bass response of its Action series of speakers, DAS Audio has introduced the Action 118A single 18-inch powered horn-based subwoofer system.

A 1,600W Class-D amplifier drives the 18LX long excursion bass loudspeaker, which incorporates a 4-inch voice coil for high power handling. Furthermore, the amplifier, which also integrates a switch-mode power supply and DSP, has a unique EQ switch for either deep or loud bass response. Other features include a polarity reverse switch, filtered output defeat, switch and gain control. The system also includes two balanced inputs with stereo filtered output connections for satellite systems. The variable crossover ranges from 100Hz to 160Hz, although this can be defeated to offer stereo ‘loop thru’ connections.

Constructed in birch plywood and finished with a coating of the highly resistant ISO-flex black paint for durability along with a powder-coated steel grille, the Action 118A incorporates handles on the sides and the rear of the cabinet together with two rear located wheels to make moving the box easier. The Action 118 is a version designed for external amplification, which is also compatible with bi-amplified systems.
