DirectOut extends routing and control for Madi interfaces

DirectOut has increased the routing capacity of its Andiamo 2 series and introduced network control across the Andiamo range.

The Andiamo 2, Andiamo.AES and Andiamo.MC interfaces have been fitted with two 64-channel Madi ports that, with the latest firmware release, can be treated independently with all 128 incoming Madi channels individually routable to 32 analogue, 32 AES3 or 128 Madi outgoing channels. The internal routing matrix has doubled in capacity to 192 inputs and 192 outputs. The two ports can also be configured as a redundant pair giving protection against the loss of a Madi fibre or coaxial connection.

DirectOut has also released an update to the Andiamo remote control software. It will allow multiple units to be remote controlled across a standard TCP/IP network using an off¬ the shelf Raspberry Pi plugged in to the USB port on each Andiamo. In addition to the extended audio routing, the software gives full control of Madi modes, sample-rates, sync sources, analogue I/O levels and Madi redundancy. It also provides status monitoring of sync, Madi connections and the dual-redundant power supplies.
