Diva and Titan

Wharfedale Pro has announced the Diva 8 surface-mount installation loudspeaker and Titan 8A MkII for portable sound and fixed installation applications.

Available in a black or white, the spheroid ported cabinet of the Diva 8 eliminates internal standing waves, improving efficiency and low-frequency output. A proprietary mounting system assists installation – once the mounting is attached to the wall the speaker is attached by pushing it onto the bracket’s spring-loaded latch. Angle adjustments of 120°x90° of pan and tilt are available to allow accurate positioning, and a single hex nut is used to lock the mechanism.

Based on a two-way co-axial design, the Diva 8 uses an 8-inch custom Wharfedale Pro transducer with a 2-inch diaphragm, 1.2-inch exit titanium compression driver on a coaxially mounted waveguide. The speaker has a frequency response of 60Hz to 20kHz and is capable of 108dB SPL @ 1m. A 70.7V/100V line-matching transformer ensures impedance matching with your impedance amplifiers or external line transformers. The 70.7V power tap has 7.5W, 15W, 30W and 60W modes while the 100V power tap has 15W, 30W and 60W modes. A low impedance (8Ω) setting allows connectivity to a low impedance amplifier, providing 160W of continuous programme output per speaker.

Adopted from the Titan 12A and 15A, two-band EQ has been included in the new Titan 8A MkII. The speaker is bi-amplified with independent LF and HF signal limiting, using Class-D technology for both the LF and HF sections, and providing a more efficient and powerful system that is lighter than the previous generation design. In addition, the compact loudspeaker also now has a defeat switch to switch off the power LED.

The Titan 8A MkII provides enough output and low-frequency extension to be used as a standalone vocal PA for A/V and presentation work, or combined with a subwoofer for a portable band or DJ set-up.
