Driver modules fitted with ferrite motors from Faital Pro

Faital Pro has unveiled its first wave of more than 30 new loudspeaker driver models fitted with ferrite motors. The Italian manufacturer insists that this launch completes its product catalogue with new tonalities without having to eliminate any of its existing neodymium models.
‘This project is not a trade-in at the cost of quality as some speakers actually improve with ferrite, since the magnetic field works in a completely different way – favouring some of the features that, for example, are particularly appreciated in subwoofers,’ commented overseas sales manager Flavio Naggi.
The 12HP1030, 15HP1030 and 18HP1030 models are 12-, 15- and 18-inch woofers offering a maximum power output ranging between 2,000 and 2,400W, which are equipped with two non-adjacent symmetrical spiders with variable height waves for maximum control on the entire excursion. The separated dual spiders are not glued with silicon, allowing the meeting of the voice coil at two separate heights/joints to benefit from a stronger assembly and high linearity of movement.
The 12HP1010, 15HP1010 and 18HP1010 models are further 12-, 15- and 18-inch woofers, which have been designed for speakers requiring slightly less power, whilst retaining the two non-adjacent symmetrical spider designs.
Meanwhile, the new 12FH510, 15FH510 and 18FH510 ferrite models join the company’s FH series. The 12FH510 is a mid-woofer that can be used in a typical two-way system, paired with a 1-inch driver, whilst the low roll-off spider has been improved allowing it to work well without strong electronic filtering in the high range. Handling up to 1,000W maximum and 500W nominal power, the 15FH510 comes with a slightly higher Fs spec compared to the 18-inch model. The 18FH510 handles maximum power of up to 1,200W with an Fs value of 30Hz.
