Enhanced STI-PA measurement for XL2

NTi Audio has introduced V2.50 firmware for its XL2 acoustic analyser, which automatically offers an updated STI-PA measurement standard for all users. New XL2 features, such averaging multiple STI-PA results and onsite ambient noise correction have been implemented to increase measurement efficiency, allowing installers emulating STI-PA measurements of crowded conditions even in empty environments.

V2.50 firmware extends the XL2 with the latest STI-PA measurement requirements according the standard IEC60268-16 (2011, edition 4.0). Meanwhile, older editions remain supported for compliance with legacy specifications.

As measuring STI-PA in real-life conditions of busy public places is often not feasible, NTi customers may measure the speech intelligibility STI-PA at night with preloaded noise spectra of the crowded conditions.

In addition, NTi Audio has extended the functionality of the Flexus audio analyser by adding a digital audio interface option with AES3, AES3id, S/PDIF and TosLink functionality.

The AES3 interface extension adds two digital analyser inputs and two digital signal generator outputs, allowing testing digital audio equipment. Flexus’ flexible structure and software offers a simple setup for connecting to analogue-only, digital-only or mixed mode devices and applications or A/D converting devices.

The digital interface and the standard two channel FX100 audio generator and analyser operate together automatically within the FX-Control software environment. The sampling rate of the digital generator can be set to any frequency between 28kHz and 210kHz.
