ESS develops new loudspeaker processors
Published: PRODUCTS

Foshan-based manufacturer East Sound System (ESS) has developed new digital loudspeaker processors as part of its HD series. The HD28D and HD24D processors come with FIR and IIR
filter technology in addition to Dante digital audio networking capabilities.
In addition to solving loudspeaker phase problems, the IIR filters allow for the adjustment of various parameters. Four XLR inputs and eight XLR outputs connect analogue sources with the 1U rack mountable units, whilst two Dante interfaces and AES/EBU inputs and outputs provide digital connections. When connected with the Dante audio network, the ESS HD24D and HD28D processors can share the Dante cloud network, operating in real time.
The HD8in and HD8out breakout boxes further support Dante digital audio technology. The plug and play units can connect analogue signals through a digital audio network or feed a digital audio signal from a Dante network to analogue outputs, whilst sharing the Dante network cloud.
Dante networking offers glitch-free redundancy, whilst a third party connector connects known Dante devices to the network without the need to add an additional switch. The AVB-ready breakout boxes promote scalable, flexible network topologies supporting a large number of senders and receivers on a single integrated network for video, audio, control, and monitoring. Direct connection to PCs from multi-channel playback is made possible by introducing a Dante Virtual Soundcard.
