Published: PRODUCTS

Fostex has produced its first two-way powered studio monitor in the form of the PMO.3, which is ideally suited to home recording applications.
Available in grey, white and black, the PMO.3 combines a dedicated 3-inch LF fibreglass cone woofer with a ¾-inch HF silk dome tweeter driver, both of which are powered by an internal Class-D, 15W per-channel amplifier.
The compact PMO.3 system comes with RCA (L-R) and stereo mini-inputs and is housed in a wooden enclosure.
The Japanese manufacturer has also released the TH-900 dynamic headphone and the HP-A8C 32-bit DAC/ headphone amplifier. The TH-900 headphone includes a specially engineered driver unit with a 1.5 tesla magnetic circuit that allows the unit to achieve a significantly wider range, as well as the company’s signature ‘Biodyna’ 50mm biodynamic diaphragm. The Japanese cherry birch housing provide a rigid and dense texture to create a robust acoustic performance, and the unit’s 3m cord is composed of 7N grade oxygen free copper (OFC) and comes with a gold plated 6.3mm stereo plug.
Meanwhile, the HP-A8C is a 32-bit digital audio converter and headphone amplifier, and is equipped with a DSD audio playback function, in addition to a precise electronic volume knob and TCXO clock for asynchronous mode. The enclosure comes with a glass front panel and black side panels together with a white organic LED display.
