Flashline goes on tour

Turbosound is directly targeting touring applications with its Flashline Monitors. The four-member flagship family of coaxial two-way speakers comprises powered and switchable passive/bi-amp 12-inch and 15-inch models.
Starting with the switchable passive/bi-amp wedges, both offer a nominal dispersion of 60-degrees horizontal by 40-degrees vertical and feature 1,400W of peak power designed to work in conjunction with amplification and loudspeaker management systems from fellow Music Group brand Lab.gruppen.
The TFM122M features a carbon fibre loaded 12-inch neodymium low frequency driver with a titanium dome 1.4-inch neodymium compression driver. It has a stated frequency response of 70Hz to 18kHz ±3dB and can deliver 128dB SPL in passive mode with the LF driver delivering 127dB and the HF driver hitting 129dB in bi-amp mode.
The larger TFM152M has a similar feature set, offering a carbon fibre loaded 15-inch neodymium low frequency driver with the same titanium dome 1.4-inch neodymium compression driver. Its vital statistics differ somewhat with a 65Hz to 18kHz ±3dB frequency response and a 130dB peak SPL in passive mode and 129dB for both LF and HF in bi-amp.
The pair of powered monitors feature the same drivers as their switchable siblings as well as the same nominal dispersion. Both deliver 2,500W peak power courtesy of a Class-D amplifier and feature DSP from Music Group brand, Klark Teknik.
A further similarity comes via the use of Music Group’s Ultranet digital audio network. This will reportedly allow the monitors to connect to compatible devices including mixers, I/O stage boxes, powered loudspeakers and personal monitoring systems. These wedges have been designed to work individually without a controller so feature a user interface via LCD display or remote control via Turbosound’s PC Edit software.
The differences can again be found with the output. The TFM122M-AN has the same frequency response as the TFM122M but a maximum SPL of 130dB peak. Meanwhile the TFM152M-AN offers a wider frequency response than its switchable variant of 60Hz to 18kHz ±3dB and delivers a maximum SPL of 132dB peak.
