Freespeak II divides and conquers

Following the recent launch of Clear-Com’s FreeSpeak II Base II wireless base station, the solution has been joined by the fibre-capable FreeSpeak II splitter box. Capable of supporting both the 1.9GHz and 2.4GHz frequency bands, the FSII base station reportedly supports up to 25 full-duplex wireless beltpacks and can cover a large production area thanks to support for up to 10 distributed antenna transceivers and two of the new transceiver splitters. The splitter (FSII-SPL) connects up to five FreeSpeak II transceiver modules from one of two antenna ports on the FreeSpeak II-Base II via the SFP fibre connectors. It offers five RJ-45 Ethercon connectors, LED status indicators for each connection and a DIP switch for setting Cat-5 or fibre operation. It can be mounted into the 1U Splitter Rack, which holds up to two splitters, on a microphone stand or against the wall. The box is IP54-rated and doesn’t require water-protective housing to be used outside.
