Hybrid reference monitors from Akai

Akia Professional has launched its new RPM3, a hybrid monitoring and USB audio interface system described as ‘perfect for mobile recording rigs and project studios’.
Offering a lightweight design, a bass-boost switch and magnetic shielding, the full-range RPM3 monitors include a USB connection enabling users to ‘simultaneously play audio from and record audio to a computer’ directly from sources including mixers, keyboards, preamps and processors. Alongside the USB cable, connections include a stereo ⅛-inch jack, a pair of balanced ¼-inch TRS inputs and stereo RCA inputs. A volume control, power-switch and ⅛-inch headphone jack are also located on the front panel.
