Published: PRODUCTS
The ICE-16 audio interface has been revealed by Allen & Heath, offering 16 channels of I/O and aimed at allowing users to capture multi-track recordings direct to a USB drive or to interface with a computer.
Standing just 1U, the interface is described by Allen & Heath as ‘capable of studio quality interfacing, converting and bi-directional streaming of 16 channels over high-speed USB or FireWire at 24bit, 96kHz resolution’. Alternately, users can record 16 channels direct to a USB drive or memory stick in wav files of up to 24bit, 48kHz resolution. Multiple interfaces can also be daisy-chained to expand the channel count.
Signal and peak metering is also provided for each channel and can be switched to show input or output, while headphone monitoring is supported with switches on each channel to enable the checking of individual or multiple channels. ASIO drivers and Core Audio compliance ensure full compatibility with all the main DAWs, including Logic, Sonar, Cubase and Pro Tools.
