K-Array offers the Cheese Box

Its real name is the KRM33, but the nickname given to the latest arrival in K-Array’s Redline range is the Cheese Box. Presumably that makes the passive KRM33P the Cheese Box Lite.

Regardless, the ultra-compact, low-profile wedge is comprised of three 3.15-inch cone drivers plus a single 6-inch passive radiator, a combination designed to deliver DSP-controlled linear dispersion of 30-degrees to 70-degrees horizontal and 90-degrees vertical. A bass enhancement mode is also onboard to drop the minimum frequency range from 70Hz to 18KHz.

Inside the full-fat Cheese Box is a two-channel amplifier and DSP for adjusting EQ directly inside the box as well as the aforementioned dispersion pattern. Two buttons are located on the rear of the enclosure to allow end-users to adjust settings without having to connect a computer, though a USB connection is also included.

Crucially, the option of controlling horizontal dispersion raises the possibility of creating horizontal arrays to increase SPL and coverage while maintaining a high and constant signal-before-feedback within all the cluster’s beams. Externally, the Cheese Box is made out of stainless steel.
