EAW has launched the KF740 line array loudspeaker, which is a high-output, lightweight, compact, three-way design. The symmetrical design, large horn and spaced woofers provide high pattern control while EAW Focusing, provided by EAW’s UX8800 DSP and EAW Resolution software supports system performance.

The KF740 is suited to scalable applications delivering an output resembling the larger KF760, but with the footprint and weight of the smaller KF730. Each module contains two HF neodymium compression drivers with 2.5-inch voice coils and two 8-inch MF transducers with 3-inch coils. These are mounted in a single horn that occupies the entire face of the enclosure, providing a consistent 90° pattern control down to 160Hz, as the MF passes to a spaced array of four 10-inch LF transducers with 2.5-inch voice coils. Two of the LF transducers are mounted within the horn, while two are side-mounted, providing as much as 18dB off-axis rejection.

A full KF740 array provides a 50Hz to 20kHz frequency response, where the vertical output can be tailored to match the requirements of any space by varying the splay at the rear of the enclosures as directed by Resolution software. The resultant configuration repeatedly produces a continuous, coherent wave front of extended-range, high-resolution audio over the defined coverage area. The 49kg cabinet features a smooth, uniform transition when the listener moves from on-axis to off-axis, increasing the soundfield. The speaker module is housed in a Baltic birch plywood enclosure, protected by wear-resistant textured coating and a powder-coated steel grille. The extruded structural aluminium rigging, precision quick-release rigging pins and Neutrik STX series NL8 connectors.
