Klotz meets data demands with FiberFlex Ultra

German manufacturer Klotz ais has designed its FiberFlex Ultra F8UM11 8x FO cable to cope with growing volumes of data traffic. The cable includes the manufacturer’s SmartBeam Octo with eight lenses.

Features include a 500 μm primary coating plus 900 µm fibre layers to protect the eight 50/125 µm, OM3, multimode fibres from external influences while also keeping the assembly’s bending radius to a minimum. The PUR outer jacket has a diameter of only 6.4mm. The cable’s beam connectors also comply with the IP 67 rating. According to Klotz, the cable enables transfer rates of eight x 10Gb/s.

Also new is the FiberLink Ultra Simplex FO-PMCC, which is described as ideal for patching in FO environments. According to Klotz, patch panels are often connected using duplex cables although only one conductor is needed, with the redundant conductor serving no purpose. Accordingly, the FiberLink Ultra Simplex FO-PMCC has just one conductor. Other features include an outer-jacket diameter of 2.9mm, fitted loss-proof dust protector caps and a range of lengths from 0.3m to 10m. SC connectors are used as standard, with LC and ST connectors available as alternatives.

Finally, OmniFIX is a multicore for balanced digital and analogue signal transmission in fixed installations. Included is an aluminium foil shield which reportedly offers 100 per cent coverage and protects reliably from external HF interference.
