L-Acoustics expands Arcs range with Wide and Focus

French loudspeaker manufacturer L-Acoustics recently debuted the Arcs Wide and Arcs Focus constant curvature WST line source systems, describing them as ‘two constant curvature enclosures holding distinct directivity pattern and SPL capabilities’.

Both ‘plug and play’ designs are intended for use in medium-throw applications within the rental and installation sectors, particularly in front of house left-right configurations, central clusters, as side-fills or monitors. True to their names, Arcs Wide offers a dispersion pattern of 30-degrees by 90-degrees while Arcs Focus delivers 15-degrees by 90-degrees. The accompanying SB18M low frequency extension cabinet operates down to 32Hz, while the cabinets have been designed to work alongside LA4 or LA8 amplified controllers. Both systems can be deployed as either a horizontal or vertical array.

According to L-Acoustics marketing director Stéphane Ecalle, the new loudspeakers offer ‘scalable coverage from 15- or 30-degrees to a full 360-degrees’. They are also IP45 rated for outdoor applications.
