The 6000A Tube is a new limited edition active stereo loudspeaker from Genelec, designed for desktop and portable use. The Harri Koskinen-designed aluminium enclosure is particularly suited for confined spaces, and is described to be ‘robust enough’ for travelling.
Genelec is keen to state that the 6000A Tube ‘actually benefits from being placed near an object, wall, or corner,’ and in these situations is capable of making the sound disperse evenly.
Designed to be used with computers, televisions, and portable audio players, the 6000A Tube includes a remote control and automatic signal sensing function that switches the speaker to stand-by mode if no audio signal is detected for approximately 10 minutes.
Genelec stresses that only a limited number of the 6000A Tube speakers will be made. 1000 units are destined for the Japanese market, while another 1000 are being sold exclusively through the Genelec webshop on a first come, first-serve basis for the European market.
