Mackie brings the Thump
Published: PRODUCTS

Promising to deliver twice the power output of its popular originals, Mackie’s all-new ‘supercharged’ Thump series of powered loudspeakers has arrived, providing 1,000W per speaker.
Described as delivering ‘class-leading, chest-thumping low end’ in an affordable solution, the range consists of three new models, the full-range Thump12 and Thump15, as well as a companion Thump18S subwoofer – delivering 1,200W –power with comprehensive I/Os.
Features include precision crossovers, transducer time alignment, a 3-band EQ with a sweepable mid, flexible mounting options, combo mic/line inputs, and a lightweight and portable design.
In addition to the high-powered Thump series, the manufacturer has made two new additions to its active SRM loudspeaker series, the SRM 350 and SRM 450.
Featuring a new 1,000W amp platform, upgraded sound quality, and digital sound-shaping tools in a portable format, the speakers allow users to choose between four application-specific speaker modes, each essentially re-voicing the SRM for the application at hand.
Also built-in is an intelligent feedback destroyer, Mackie’s HD audio processing – which performs acoustic correction via DSP, precision crossovers, drive time alignment and phase correction. Described as ‘application-flexible’, both cabinets also contain a 2-channel mixer with Wide-Z inputs.
